- LIVE STOCK MARKETS
Union Stock Yards. Toronto. July 5.- When
the general public gets ole an r eam diet
and comes lack to good old roast beef the
live stock market will Login to show acme
signs of life. but until then there seems to
be nothing ahead but dull, draggy trading.
s with prices reflecting., the inability of the
trade to take care of offerings. if there
had been any demand for cattle at Ml yes-
terday's market would have Leen n fairly
good one, for the run was lees then one-
third of that re.Ltorod n wet.); ago. But,
small as it w0.). it w , t,,u'hr,,,,. , ml up-
wards of 400 head were ..till 11, the nen,
unsold when thearket rinsed. Yh4: 0..
Dreoented an addition of about 100 head to
the hangovers from Lst week.
For quality butcher route there was a
middling good demand. 1 nt the greet bp':,
of the ronrsh llght.atulf was practically my.
saleable. One commission house had n bonen
of good two -year-olds of about 500 to 709
Pounds. which wore offered down to 83.n
a hundred without finding n buyer. At the
present time farmers will take ❑ few feed-
ers for selling in the fall after n few month,
on the gra., but light slocke:.+

5.0 id' 75 cents.
Calves were stout/dearly for choice Dual-
ity, hut there were hardly enough of them
to make a market. The top price ib! .the
day was 0 cents, but the range for the
beat was from 8 to 8'64 cents. Sheep and
Iambs were steady but quiet. The Lest of•
fered brought $13.50. with most of those
of choice quality tingling around $13 to
15.25.
The run of hos.s was small. but packers, as
was expected, eased the mice down n little,
paying 011.50 fed and watered. compered
