The financial report showed that the past year had been a most successful one, the total receipts for the year amounting to $879.60, the expenditure 1.857.53, and the member- ship being 2115. The Society this year will lay out and furnish flower beds at Victoria Park, around the soldiers' monument. co-operate with -the G. T. I1ULLETT Youthful Bandit.—Fired with the supposed bravado of a bandit, after examining a new rifle secured by his chute, Wilfred Allbright, aged about 11 years, employed by Mr. Mills, a Rupert township farmer, held up his chum's mother, Mrs. Alfred Lydiatt, Wednesday morning, and is alleged to have stolen $15 from her. Allbright Escaped into the bush and after being traced for six or seven utiles W215 caught while hiding in his employers' cowshed, by Chief Fitzsimmons, of Clinton, and Chief Whiteside'*, of Hensall. The lad was grade prisoner and brought to the Clinton jail at midnight. He appeared before Magis- trate S. J. Andrews Thurilday morn- ing. When arrested Ablbright had the rifle, which he had taken from the Lydiatt hone. He said he did not know why he acted M such a manner. Last night Allbright went across the road to his chum's place and was shown the new gun and how it work- ed. This morning he made a second trip when no one was in the house. It is alleged that he then secured the $15 and went -upstairs and got the. gun. Mrs. Lydiatt hearing a disturb- ance, carte in and started up the stairs. She was met by Allbright with Out rifle and the command: "Hands up!” The woman slammed the door in his face and ran outside to raise an alarm, Allbright giving chase. He diverted his line of travel, however, and headed for the bush. You'll like it1 2770x1 Successful Lawyer. — The Port Huron Times Herald, a daily paper of that city, in its last Monday's is - sic, contained the following account of a divorce case that was tried in that city last Saturday, the 8th inst.: "Husband 73, gets divorce; wife 71. Desertion by his' spouse for a period of two years was considered as grounds for a divorce case for Frank Sykes, aged 73, by Judge Eugene F. Law, in Circuit Court Saturday. The wife, Margaret .Sykes, aged 71, had not lived with him for that length of time, so the husband claimed. At- torney W.
