ing at the homes of Messrs. Mahood
and Fallis at present.
Mrs. Alex. Wyneas spent Sunday last
at Port Elgin.
Mr. S. Howard, of Orange Bill, will
occupy the pulpit of. the Methodist
church here next Sunday morning. -
It is whispered around the town that
one of our business men has lately been
immersed in the Maitland. We can't
tell -what is his reason.

my disposal ` I will give you a few
'thoughts on Manitoba. : My travels are
more extended dais year than last, and.
these last two weeks I have. been North- -
west of Brandon, and I. must say that
the country here has a different appear-
ance to Beautiful Plains. The country.
here is much intersected with ravines,
and the land is quite rolling. Crops in
general are looking -very promising. .
and although the spring was late in -
opening, they are further %,head than .. r
they were at this date last year. Wheat
.is now finely out in :head; stnd the pros -
peat of an abnndant'crop is good.
I left Neepewa two week's' -ago. and -
