Fordwich.
On Sabbath` morning last upward of
one hundred Orangemen and Orange
\Yov;.3ritons assembled at their Iodge
;,rotas here for the purpose of attending
divine service to be, held in the_ Metho-
dist church. The brethren, were fore_
.into proeession by Bro. B. S. Cook, the
o V. -B. having the precedence, and
parched in full regalia to the church,
whish, -when the brethren were seated,
waspacked to its fullest capacity. The
Rev. Mr. Pring occupied the pulpit, ac -
carding to a previous invitation, and
his smiling countenance betokened
he was pleased to see such a large num-
ber of the brethren, as well as others, to
partake of an intellectual feast, such as
the Rev. Bro. is capable of giving. His
sermon must have been carefully pre-
pared, as it was considered by all pre-
sent a master -piece, and was Listened to
with rapt attention for over one hour.
The text choseu was IL Thess::2nd
chap. from 3rd to 10th verses, .inclusive.
The rev. speaker first showed- that the
.oman . Catholic Church was the system
pf antichrist whosecharacteriktherein..
depicted,- proving Prean history- its r*.
semblance theretoin that it arose in a
declension of religion, has assumed
Divine :titles and prerogatives, and ap-
plied prophecies to its popes and priests
-that are only applicable to Jesus Christ,
and made war with the Saints and bit-
'terly persecuted them. The next point
dealt with was the attitude towards
this system that should be as_ sunned by
Orangemen and Protestants generally;
viz., one of unflinching and nncoeaprom
:sing antagonism. If it be antichrist we
must seek to destroy it or be partakers
'of its guilt We should oppose it at the
;polls ; not talk. Orangeismz and : Protes-
tatism and votexpolitics, but sink party

tant principles-. Our ,religions liberties
are: thatened ; defend -theta in every
1etimateway. ' Our educational.system
is in danger; seek to Maintain public
cbools, and let no unholy hands laid
:upon them. The sermon was ended by
principles- of Orangeism
-It la riot a iohtacat organization; as some
belied united to maintain either pc lit;

Brotherhood whose object itis; 1st, to
