WINGELAM Death of Dr. Kennedy. -The death a Dr. 3. P. Kennedy of Wingham occurred Tuesday morning. Deceased bad not been in good health latterly, but nothing of a serious charaoter was indicated. He is survived by his wife and four daughters, Dr. Irlma Kennedy, of Wingham; Miss Gretta, .-of the staff of McDonald College, Queliec; and Miss Heloise and Miss Aileen, of Toronto University. De- ceased was the sou of Rev. James Kennedy, a Methodist clergyman,' who with two brothers, Dr. S. M. INn- redy, of London_ and George E. Ken- zedy, of Calgary, survives him. Union Stock Yards, Toronto, October 26.- 1 -Trade in cattle opened slow here this morn- ing with good, heavy steers and 'heifers sell- ing steady but all poorer kinds extremely draggy all day. The receipt was a little heavier than this day last week, but below normal, for the season. From 12 to 13 cents Was the best price for choice butcher cattle, anything bringing more than that figure be- ing fit for export. The top price was $13.25 per cwt. for 21 steers sold by Corbett and Ball for John Skelding, Shelbourne, th Har- ris Abattoir Co. The lot averaged 1.320 lbs. per head. The same firm sold a load of prime butcher heifers averaging 980 lbs. at 111.25. Dunn and Levack sold .15 head of butcher cattle averaging 1,230 lbs. at $13 per cwt. The market closed slow v;ith quite it number of head in the pens. In the day's trading canners lost another quarter of e tent from Saturday's price. Cows and bulls were steady. Stockers and feeders were slow in moving, with prices a. little lower; choice feeders weighing 1,150 lbs. brought 310.25. The calf trade was very quiet, and all but the very choicest veal lost fully a dollar in Price, in fact the result of the day's trading was a falling off of 31.50, all qualities con- sidered, it: medium caleei sold for 14 th 16 cents and fat common ones as low as 8 to 12 cent-. The reeeipt of calves was heavier than for <et,-.•eral days past and the quality of the run was poor. Lambs were fully half it dollar stronger to -day and it few sold for 12.1h cents per Pound; however 12 cents 'was the ruling Price for the good ones.
