If the liberal re- sponse continues, the allotted $2,000 will be over-subscribed.—Mr.. H. W. Kraft, who is erecting a new house at the east end of Front Street, has the excavation completed and founda- tion built.—The local creamery is kept busy now and often has to make two churnings a day. A motor truck is now used to gather the cream.— Mr. and 'Mrs. G. Oestricher spent Sunday at Kitchener. — Mr. G. S. Howard will be in Exeter next week presiding at the Lower School exam- ination, and Mies Ready, of Winchel- sea, will be the local- examiner the following week.—Mr. G. Edighoffer and family spent Sunday in Kitchener. ST. COLUBAN Jordan—Sloan. — Another pretty June wedding was solemnized at St. Columban at 9 a.rn. on Tuesday, when Joseph William Jordan, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jordan, of Hib- bert; was married to Miss Mary Agnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 'George Sloan, of McKillop. The bride looked charming in white silk and lace, white hat and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lily of the valley. She was attended by Miss Mary Jordan, of Toronto, who wore apricot silk with overdress of apricot georgette, black picture hat, and car- ried pink roses. The groom was .supported by Mr. James Sloan. Rev. Father White, P.P., performed the marriage ceremony and sang the nuptial mass. Following the wedding breakfast at the bride's home in Mc- Killop the happy couple motored off to near by towns, and in the evening e, public reception was held on the fourth concession, Hibbert, at the bride's new home. Following the rn.any congratulations, dancing was the chief amusement. Douglas Bros. of Logan Township, furnished the music. ,The presents to the bride were numerous, useful and costly and em- braced many substantial cheques. DUBLIN Notes. Miss McDermott returned to Detroit, having spent fiveweeks with her mother here.—A public pro- cession was held at the R. C. Church grounds on Sunday last, the feast of Corpus Christi, following grand high mass celebrated by Rev. .Father Ed 'ea'ard Weber. Rev. Peter Weber, Kansas City, Mo., was deacon, Rev: Father McCardle sub -deacon and Rev. Father Noonan, P,P., master of cer- emonies._ er emonies.Rev. Father Goetz, ` Sea - forth, was present in the sanctuary. and assisted with the ceremonies. An eloquent sermon was preached on the gospel of the day by Rev. Peter Weber. Mass being over, Mr. Thos. McCann, President of the Holy Name Society, lead the men, then came the children's choir of 150 members dress- ed in white and wearing wreaths; twenty four little tots carried baskets of flowers which were strewn before the Blessed Sacrament carried by the priests. Benediction was offered up at two temporary altars on the lawn. The banner carried had the words of Holy Scripture: "In the name of Jesus every knee should bow." The singing of the children's choir was very beautiful and! shoed careful training by their teachers. The ser- vices were attended by many from Seaforth and St. Columban.—Mr. and Mrs. Leo D, Fortune were the guests of Mr. D. McConnell on Sunday.— Miss Clara McKenna was the guest of Mrs. Redmond on Sunday. Address and Presentation.—Miss Kathleen Sullivan was honored by her neitooltnates and presented with an address on the 5th inst., before leav- ing for London to train for a nurse. Dearest Kathleen:—We have heard, with feeling of deep regret, that you Isar e "decided tqr flit away to pastures r1ew and to leave behind you, at least for a time, the old scenes and the fuiniliar faces.
