THE DAILY MISERY
OF ILL-IIEALTH
Three Years of Suffering Quickly
Relieved: by "FRU-:1T.,A_TIVES"
• MR. GASPARD DUBORD
159 Avenue Pius IX, Montreal.
"For three years, I was a terrible
sufferer from Dyspepsia and my general
health was very bad. I consulted a
physician and took his medicine and
faithfully carried out his instructions;
but p did not improve and finally the
doctor told me if could not be cured /
At this Lime, a friend advised me
to try `1 reit-a-tines' and I did so.
After taking two boxes of `Fruit-a-
tim , I was greatly relieved; and
gradually this marvelous fruit
medicine made me completely well.
My digestion and general health
are splendid—all of which i owe to
"Fruit-a-tives".

GLUE RESISTED TEN' DAY'
SOAKING IN WATER
New glues, rade fromi albumen ands
casein, are now. being produced .which
can be Boiled in .water for eight hours
or soaked in cold water for ten days
without being in any way affected.
Testa were recently made of these
glues -imposed on plywood which (to-
gether with.the glue) is used for air-
craft. The shearing strength of casein
and blood glues in plywood for air -''I
plane use is required to be at least,'
150 pounds per Vinare inch, but it is„
rarely as low as this minimum,: At
the present time veneer panels glued
with blood glue show higher average
strength than those glued with casein
glue, but according to chemists and
metallurgical engineers, caseins glues
will undoubtedly be developed before
long that will equal the blood glues.
Casein even now can be used for glu-
ing all thicknesses, while the blood
glue is, it is said, seldom used for
gluing anything thicker than veneer.

A FARMERS' LEAGUE IN
\ NORTH DAKOTA
If the United Farmers . of Ontario
received any of their inspiration from
the -Non-Partisan League of North
Dakota, an organization that started
out with somewhat similar ambitions,
its members must have been shocked
:a few days ago when they read that
the Scandinavian -American Bank at
Fargo had gone "bust” with liabilities
estimated in . the neighborhood of
$1,600,000. For this was the :fiinan-
cial chief backer of the League, and
it has collapsed disgracefully. Oddly
enough, many of the farmers in the
Non -Partisan League rather wel-
come the bursting of the bubble.
since it will enable them the more
speedily to get rid of the Socialistic
'theories that have brought the or-
ganization into disrepute. As a
farmers' organization there may be
a useful future for the .league; as
- a branch of Bolshevism there was
,nothing ahead but failure. Another
reason for their rejoicing is that Li
State law makes `the people of the
Stateresponsible for the bank's losses.
Its depositors will break even, and
the shareholders will merely have to
pay a dollar or two extra in taxes.
So nobody loses but the public.
The Non -Partisan League which
has had the whole State in almost
absolute control for three years, and
has been an influential and even
dominant figure in the politics of
three or four neighboring;
