Union Stock Yards, Toronto, March, 4.-
There was an active and 25e stronger trade
this morning for all grades of killing cattle
withthe exception -of choke heavy steels,
which were firm at last week's prices. The
offering of 4.000 'head of cattle did not in-
clude the prime quality steers, which had sold
(luring reeent weeks from $t6 to $17.50, but
eeveral loath cashed in from $14.50 to $15.75.
Choice butchers were in good demand and
sold from 312.50 Ito $13.25, and all other
killers were an equally active trade at cor-
responding stronger values. The market for
eows and bulls was also a quarter higher,
and while the hest fat cows sold from $11 to
$11.50, several extra choice cows cashed in
from $11.75 to $12. Canners and cutters were
active from $5.75 to $7.
The stocker and feeder trade continued
uiet, but the market for springers improved,
• light offering selling up to $10 hikher than
last week. The best cows sold from $125 to
$150 each.
