GODERICH
Fire. -At ten otelock Tuesday even-
ing the fire alarm sounded in Goder-
ich, the frame .store on Hamilton
street, occupied by Mr. Robert Wilson
as warehouse for McLaughlin card-
, ages and cutters ,etc., having been dis-2
coveted to be on fire. There was no
wind blowing and the water pressure
was good, so that, although the build-
ing is situated with fraroe buildings on
each side, Mr. Wilson's warerooms
used for the Massey -Harris Implement
rooms on OBEs side and Miss O'Neil'
residence on the other, no da,mage
was done to_ either, in fact the blaze
was confined principally to the upper
portion. of the building. There had
been no fire in the building for years,
and the fact that at one corner of the
building the siding and timbers are
burned from the ground up seems to
point to the fire having originated
at this poirrt and run up to the up-
stairs.. All the carriages and cutters
in the store were got out safely and
Mr. Wilson's loss .will be confined
chiefily to damage done to some five
tons of fertilizer which he had in the
SRAFORTII blARKETS.
