Toronto, Jau. 29—Exporters—Trade in shipping
cattle was, as Anna, quiet, transactions being' Bruit-
ed to one load of steers and a few odd lots of bulls.
The steera weighed about 1280 lbs. and were sold at
e.5. Bulls were quoted at from $3.75 to $4.25 for the
bulk, with extra quality selling up to $4.40, or even
higher. Butcher Cattle—Local buYers succeeded hi
getting well stocked up lest week, and accordingly
several of them were not on the market at allto-day.
The small ran, however, held prices steady, and un-
less offeririp are heavy during the next two clays the
market Will probably show a fair improvement.
•Cheice lots of butchers' sold at $4.25 ,to 24.65; med-
ium. to good, $3.75 to 21.25 ; cominon to medium,
with a few sales reported at $3.$5. Medium quaJity
aao to $1.25. Steelier -ea. -Buyers reported a fair de-
mand for stooker cattle, and claimed they were un-
able to get enough of therm to fill orders. Stackers,
SOO-tea/00011os., were said to have teen sold at $8.80
to $8.80, feiv male in this glade brought over $8.50.
Milkers were quiets but fairly Steady ot teer so
for choice, and $25 to $35 for Medium. Calves—
Choice veat cans aord at 5 to sts per Dia with
heavy stock at 3 to 41e per lb. Sheep and Lambs—
Export ewes sold at gi to $4.40 ; bucks and culls
were a little easier, at 98 to- 93.60-; grain -fed lambs
Harris Abattoir reported a reduction of 10e in price
