A Masonic ..Evening.—There was a
very large attendance of trethren at
Britannia Lodge on Monday evening
to receive and welcome the Dietriet
Deputy Grand Master on this his
first official visit to Britannia. Ow-
ing 'to an accident On the railway
which delayed the train the District
Deputy did not arrive until nearly
;eleven o'clock. This somewhat de-
-Iayed-proceedings, but the brethren
made the 'pest of the occasion. There
were two initiations and the Dis-
trict Deputy very 'highly complimented:
Worship:n.1 Master Burrows and his
subordinate officers on the very cor-
rect and apt manner in which they
did the work. Britannia has long been
noted for the efficiency of its olfi-
cers and the excellence of its work
and ;never was it more efficiently or
accurately 'performed than on Monday
evening. After labor the "brethren
sat down to lunch in the lodge dining
room and enjoyed a .eocial hour with
the chief officer, song and sentiment
prevailing and it is needless to say
the occasion was greatly enjoyed by
all. There were, visiting brethren
present from; Clinton, Brussels and
Hensel]. end 'these added, much to the
pleasure o4 the evening. The Dis-
trict Deputy is an 'enthusiast in:
Masonry and consequently well up -in,
the work and left ;behind him a very
pleaSant feeling among those with
Whom he associated on -Monday even-
ing.
