MONTRIMa, March 10-Ego,s--The local market for
eggs is easier in tone, receipts being larger than for
some days past. Dealers state that it is now impos-
sible to compete with American eggs in the local
market,. Eggs are selling at 100 in Chicago, and
ebares for freight and duty make thein too dear to
sell here now. Eggs were quoted here this morning
.at from 28 to 24c pei dozen. Butter -The market
for butter continues steady, with firm undertone.
The demand is good at 26 to 27e for choice creamery
in wholesale lots, with tangle paellages selling as
high as 28 to 30e per pound. Medium gradee are
selling at from 24/ to 2610 per lb. Dairy butter is in '
*good demand at 20/o foe Manitoba, Rolls are scarce,
and are selling at 23 to 2.5ao per lb.
