Frank L. Willie and Miss Adeline
Riethwell was solereeized at the resi-
dence of Mr. Robt. Goderich
atreet, the home of the groom on
Wednesday. The: ceremony was per-
formed at high noon by Rev. A. K.
Birks, pastor. of the Methodist church.
Owing to the recent death of the.,
bride's :neither, there were present on-

Mre. Willie left on the afternoon
train for Detroit, where they will
spend a few deys. On their return
they' will. take up their residence on
• Clinton street. -They are both popu-

• Death of Mr., Robert Fulton.—We
learn of the -death of another form-
er respected resident of -this vicinity,
In the person of . Mr. Rebert Fulton,
formerly oil Egmondville. Previous, to
removing to the United States, Mr.
Fulton carried' on a blacksmithing
business in that 'village, where he
was well known and deservedly re-
spected. He owned the property now
occupied by Mr. Bates' store, and al-
so built and owned the residence oc-
cupied by Mr. WM. Aberhart. He
died at Brunerton, -Washington on
December •26th. He was 74 years of
age. The Lacoma Ledger *makes the
following retheence to the deceased:
"Robert Fulton deed at the Fannie
Paddock Hospital. -He sustained a
stroke of paralysis some three or
four years ago, from which he had
never fully recovered. On the 9th of,
December he met with a. fall at the
Wee of his son, A. S. Fulton, United:
States immigration; inspector, an
fractured WS thigh. The shock, with
his enfeebled condition, proved too
much for him and he was unable to
rally. Mr. Fulton was born at Green-
wich, Scdtlend, April 28, 1883, re-
moving to Ontario, Canada, when
eight years. of age, He was engaged
in business as a carriage rnanafac-
hirer. From there he came to the
Puget Sound country about 24 Years
are locating- -at Port Townsend,

His wife died Shortly before he moved
to the Pacific coed. Besides his son

The JOSSI8 MacLachlan Concert.—
The concert in Cardno'e -hall, on
Saturday evening by the Jessie Mac-
Lachl n concert company, was only
fairly attended. bliss MecLachlan
has afrays been a great ‘ favorite
with the people of Seaforth and vi-
cinity, but the notice give* was not
slifficiently icing to reach the coun-
try people, and as for the town peo-
ple, Saturday 'night is rather un-
favorable. The concert, • however,
was firgt class in every respect. Miss
MacLachlan's singing was as good
and aei enjoyable as of yore, while
the members of her company were all
aTtists. It Is very muchto be re-

teerveARcLunawaY.—Mr. Fitzpatrick, pro-
prietor of the Grip hotel with Mrs.
Fitzpatrick and' two lady friends,
had a very unpleasant experience and
a narrow escape from serious injury
on Saturday last. They 'were starting
out from the hotel with a spirited
team and a covered carriage for a
drive. In turning round the wheals
/Slipped on the icy pavement and the
'Vehicle up t. The horses started- ,to
!run with 4,he occupants of the car-
elage entre, ped, inside the 'over.
They were Jdragged in this way •until
pearly op ite Mr. Kerelalce's seed
store, when the horses turned Into
the sidewalk and were caught by Mr.

position. Fortunately they were not
injured although their clothes were
coneldera;bly bedraggled and spoiled
by the mug and alush through which
the 'ywere -dragged. Had the horses
not beer stopped when they were
they would almost certainly have
been seriously injured if not killed.
A Very, Sudden Deith.—Mr. James
Wilson an old and 'respected resi-
dent of Seaforth, e cussed away very
euddenly and easily on Tuesday fore-
noon laset. Mr. Wilson wee in his
usual .health on Tuesday morning- and
after brealefaet he commenced writ-
ing a, letter but finding it rather
dark be wont to the stable to at-
tend td the horse. His da,ughter
thinking he was absent a long time
went to, the stable to see whatwas
keeping him. AS- she Opened the
door She found him sitting on a box
on the floor with hie. head hanging
forward and quite dead. He had at-
tended td the horse and come out
frone the box stall, closing the door
behind himt when, it isevident, he
was overcome by weakness and sat
down never to rise alive, the Vital
spark 'having fled. Ile had been flab-
ject tot these weak -spells far some
time and on thisaccount had been
a cause' of considerable anxiety to
his family. It was about an hour
from the. time he lett the hoe
the body wag found and it is sup-
posed be had been dead about half
an hour. Mr. Wilson had been e„ res-
ident of Seaforth. about 30 'years. He
• Seaforth Agricultural Society.—The
annual meeting of the Tuckersmith
Branch Agricultural Society was
held in. the Commercial hotel on Wed-
nesday. The past yea' has been a
most :successful one -finenciallr. M-
bar paying $600 in prized and a num-
ber of old scores as well as the past
year's indebtedness, the society
practically ended the 'year with a
clean • Sheet. In 9,ccordence with the
new agricultural act the name of the
society was changed to the Seaforth
Agricultural Society, and the. Tuck-
eramith Branch, which has been in
exigtence for nearly 50 years past,
le now no more. The dates of the
fair for 1907 were fixed tor Thurs-
daY, and Friday, September 19th and

• Our Election.—Election day hereon
Monday was quite an interesting day,
for in addition to the municipal con-
test was the vote on • local aoption
and the vote polled was a very large
one showing that the people were
interested and thoroughly alive to
the issues of the contest. The friends
of local option, were ,greatly rejoiced
by the re.sult, the vote 43th:tiding 140
for and 72 against, so that local op-
tion will come into force in May of
this year. In the municipal contest
for the reeyeship, the vote stood 127
94, in favor of Mr. Owen 'Geiger
who is the reeve for 1907 with a
good -majority. -The- councillors are
3. W. Ortwein, John D. Stewart,
David Nichol, and F. W.Smallecombe,
and they are ail good men.
