TORONTO, Aug. 21. -Butter -The market is un-
shanged and with a firm toiae. Receipts continue
light, and the demand for choice lines is active.
Creamery prints, 22e to 23e ; solids, 22e to 23e ;
dairy prints, 20e ; pails, 18c -, bakery, 17 to 18e.
Cheese --The market is quoted higher on continued
light receipts here. Large are quoted at 13c; and
tydna at leee per pound. Eggs-- Basy in tone.
Some dealers are willing to dispose of their stocks
anywhere between lfic and 17e, although 174e is still
aaked. Owing to the very hot weather eggs held
in store a, day or two, show exceedingly heavy
shrinkage. The quality at those arriving, too, is
poor. Honey -The market is tmehang.ed ; strained
honey is quoted at 91 to 10e per pound, and combs

for seconds, and $3.80 for bakers'. Bran -Firmer at

2, mixed, dull at $7.50 ; No. 1 is offering- more ereely

Horse Market.
Toaoxeo, August 22. -At the regular Tuesday sale
at the Repoaitory, there was an unusually large
attendence of buyers, but it is next to impossible to
secure horses, Lamers being- so busy that they won't
look at purehasers. Two dealers returned on Satur-
day night after a week's trip with never an animal,
farmers being unwilling to sell, except at prices that
left no margin of profit. Asked to quote prices, Mr.
Burns said the market -was a bit too spasmodic to
give definite Agnew, but general purpose and ex- '
press horses from 1,200 to 1,350 lbs., would bring
erf25 to e175'and draught horses, 1,350 to 1,700 lbs.,

higher. •
