*1Yfarr1ed.-A quiet wedding was
solemnized at the lYfethodlist par-
sonage, Hensel', on Wednesday of
last week, when Almino., the only
daughter 'of Mr. Thomas Cann, of,
the 6th iceencession, Usborne'was
married to Mr. John Hunkin. After
the ceremony was over the young
eouple returned to the home of the
bride's father, where •a dainty re-
past was awaiting. Mr. and Mrs.
Hunkrin left on Thursday for a
trip to Toronto and; Darlington
after which they will return here
and live on Mr. gates's farm, Mr.
Hankin having rented it for a term
of years. -Mr. -and Mrs. Hunkin are
ari estimable young eouple and are
very popular and their many friends
wish them a long life of happiness
and good fortune.
The Thresher Oorapany.-The Ec-
onomic Threshing Company held its
annual meeting on Monday, Februe
ary 12, at the residence of Mr. Sam-
uel Passmore. There was a large
representation, The ,Paist season has
been a prosperous one azrd a hand. -
some dividend was paid. Th -e outfit
is in good shape fax 'another season.
The following officers were elected
for the ogming year: Wm. Moody,
president ; Robert Homey, vice-pres-

the meeting were tendered the retir-

ess, Mr. and Mrs. Pass:gore, for, tha-

The Late Jame ie McCullagh. -An-
other of Usborne's 1310St esteemed
and highly respected piongers in
the bers'on 'of Mr. James McCTr4egh,
passed to the Great Beyond on Sat-
urday raor.ning, February lOth, at
the age 'of 80 years and' 28.eidays,
mtrecunagh was a robust, hardy man
until about seven years ago, where
he suStained thrrough a fall an tin -
jury Which impaired him from fol-
lowing the ,ardieus dnities of life,
Which duties he had previously tak-
en a great pleasure in. He was born
:in the county of Armagh, Ireland,
in 1826, and came to Canada in the
year 1847, being then twenty -One
years of age, first settling in George-
town, Where he remained for about
ten years. After vvihich he came to
Uslearne, and settled on the 10th
Concession:. He was married in 1863,
to Jape Armstrong, who has been his
loving helpmate during all these
years, and Who still survives him.
Their urulan was blessed with three
children, one dying in infancy, Irvin,
-who died at the age of 13 Tears, and
John, living on his farm on the alth
etonceseion. 11r. McCullagh contin-
ued to reside on t'he 10th concession
until about ithree years age, when
he had erected for hinaself and Mrs.
mdCullagh a beautiful and com-
fortable home on the farm of his eon
John, in order to be nearer to this
sare and dau .who have
been most ki and: attentive to
their every wii4b. He had, therefore,
been a resident of this township for
half a century, helping tee convert -
