Death .of Mr. Dennison. -Another
of th.e pioneers; of Heron has passed
from this nifei Mr., Robert Denni-
son died en nunday ;last. He was
prostrated by tia stroke of paralyeis
on the preesiouin Teesday. He had
reached the unesual age of 85 years.
Mr. Dennison reilts a native of Ceunty
Sligo, Ireland, and oame to Canada
-when quite !young. The family first
-
settled in the °aunty ot Peel and af-
terwards reneived to the- township
of Scarboro. While there Mr. iDetn-
Kasen was married to Sarah Dtrivsell,
who .still survives him. Soon after
their marriage they came to Huron,
now over 48 years ago. He took up
the. farm en the Iluro'n road, Hal-
lett, now ;owned by Mr. A. Hugill.
lie remained there only- about six
months, when be ;sold this farm to
the late john Hingill, snaking a good
profit. -He then imoved to the tepee-
• ship of Morris, ipurchasing the farm
on the 'gravel read, north af Walton,
on the corner clf which the Walton
church and scheal now stand. Thirty-
twa years ago he sold this farm to
a Mr. McDougall and purchased the
fine farm. 'adjoining this village and
on -which be continued to reside un-
til. his death. Mr. Dennison was a
man of good ;' business ability, of
the 'strictest ;irectitude and thor-
oughly h=onorable in all his dealings

deep and intelli''ent interest in pub-
lic affairs; lia.. strong eanvictions
and was .a stau oh and in his day,
an active Conniervative in politics.

N. L. Leckie, late assistant to Dr.
Lyle, �f Hamilton, was sustained and
ordered to be forwarded to Ma.
Leckie. The call was unanimous and
accompanied with a gu.arantee or
stipend prbmising $800 per annum,
payable nalf yearly in advance with
a month's holidays and manse. Pro-
visional arrangements were made
for Mr. Leckie's ordination in the
event of his accepting the call. The
