steady, and the market for them was fairly
active. Inferior grades wore easier, and in

now is for light bandy cattle, the kind
which butchers find moot profitable during
the hot weather. The beet steers end belt.

Horse Market.
TORONTO, JULY 5.—There were the usual
number of enquiries during the last week
for special horses for summer driving and
for family nee, and special prices obtained
for delivery horses that are. in shape for
immediate use. The great balk of the
trifle, however, is ip the ordinary variety
of working horse. poneignore are holding
back on this account, so that offerings are.
Iigbt, About 70 horses were eold last
week, and no sale was held on Dominion
Dee'. One car load of general purpose and
draught horses were included and sold
well. They were a very good lot. Prices
ranged from $115 to 5165. A number of
uaeful second hand work horses were sold
at prices ranging from $45 to $100. Sea-
ond-hand drivers sold from $60 to $100.
Dairy Markets.
LONDON, July 5—Butter and Eggs --The
supply of butter time not large ; prices
rouged from 13 tpi14e for erecke, and 14 to
16o fer pound rale. Eggs seemed to be
scarce, and prioee were firm no 14 to 15o
per dozen wholesale. . •-
