mention in last. week's issue of the
death' of the late 'Mrs. William Reith,
and now give a few facts regarding
her lite which will no doubt be of
interest to her many relatives and
friends in the vicinity. The dead l-
ed was a daughter of the late John
Blackwell and was born in the, town-
ship of Blanshard, in the county of
Perth in' the year 1834 and- in the
year 1853 was married to Mr. Wm.
Reith, wire was well and favorably
known in Ole township 'of Hay and
-Who predeceased her some 12 years
ago. They had a family of six sons
and four daughters who are still
living to mourn the loss a a kind
and loving mother and all of whom
are now living in the tar famed. west.
Mre. Reith wins pcosessed of many
excellent qualities'and was eve,r a
kind Find obliging friend and neigh-
bor and, was of a bright and cheer-
ful disposition, which en ab 1 ed her
not only to engage with a light
heart in the many 'duties and hard-
ships incident to the care, of a
large family in pioneer -days but al-
so to be ever ready to assist those
in need of help and{ sympdthy. In
this way she was greatly aided and
blessed ha lier good works- and labors
pf love and She won and retained
many warrn friends. Between one
and two years ago Mrs. Reith. was
induced to leave here end go to
Winnipeg on account of all her fam-
ily from time to time having moved
out to the west. Site, howevertelt
much regret in leaving this section -
where she. had lived for over half a
century and where all her early as-
soeititions clustered since her mar-
riage. Not living in very good
'health for some time, the deceased.
during the past month or so previous
to her death, seemed quickly to
gro-w very weak until the end came
on Wednesday, May 2513i, when she
passed peacefully away. A largely
attended funeral service wee held in
the Presbyterian church at Winni-
• peg where she had attended, atter
which the remains were accompan-
ied by her son., Edward, to Hensall
and were interred in the family plot
tive , Rodgerville cemetery, 'I'he
sympathy of the corrimunity goes
out to the bereaved sons and; daugh-
ters in the west, all a whom are
