,great scarcity of choice dairies and creamer-
ies, and prices remain strong. Low grade
-and medium dairies are very numerous.
We quote :-Creamery prints, 22 to 23c;
nolids, 21 to 2'20; seconds 18 to 203.;
dairy pound rolls, choice, 18 to 20o; large
roNs, choice, 17 to 17ie ; tubs, 14 to 16o ;
-medium and law, 10 to 12c. Eggs -There
is a good demand and the market is steady

MONTREAL, April 'see -Cheese continues
firm at steady prices, and stock e are getting
low. The best qualities of butter are rather
high, ranging from 22 to 221e but there is
a lot of fall butter still on hand, which is

MONTREAL, April ]at --Some 40 or 50 of
the butchers put in an appearance, but they
seemed indifferent about buYieg any beef
cattle, and were looking for eimall :duff, of
which there were very few on the market.
Very few cattle were tield during the early
part of the day, the prices ranging from WI-
-to 5e per pound. The calves sold at from $2
to $4 each. Yearling sheep sold at from 41-.
to 5c per pound. There were no spring
lambs offered here to -day. Good lots of fat
hogs sold at about 6o per pound, weighed off
the cars.
