arrival, united in marriage with Dr. J. F.
ceodohilcl, of Glasgow, the wedding taking
piece in Edinburgh. The happy couple will
reside io Glasgow for the present.

solemnized at the residence of Mr. Peter
Daley on 'Thursday afternoo when his
second daughter, 13ertha, Inca e the wife
of Mr. Norman Hill; of j Marys ilie, Bzitiah
Columbia, and formerly of Sea orth. The

immediate relatives. After the ceremony a
sumptuous wedding supper was I served and

THE CARNIVAL. —The first ca meal of the

1 DEATH OF MR. Dt.'SbAN M 'GREGOR. —
Mach surprise and very.deep re reit was felt
on Wednesday on it beceming Pawn that
Mr. Duncan McGregor; of this Own,' had
departed thia life. Very few w re! aware of
his illness, and few bad missed * familiar
form from the streets. Mr. Mc regor bad
only been ill about a week, pnei Monia be-
ing the cause of death. He was

age. He had not been in robust health for
some years, and for this reasen h1 retired
from hie farm in MeKillop about t4vo years
ago, and came to reside in Seafoethl If not
a native of MoKillop, he had been a resi-
dent of the townehip siaee boyhood. He
was an industrious, geod•living,honest,
kind-hearted man, who etioyed` the esteem 1
of all who knew him'and. many si il4 learn of'
his sudden death with feelings fol.; genuine .
sorrow. We alao regret to learn' tliat Mrs. '
McGregor ie in a very critical Oondition
from the same disease, and in he nondition
the death of her beloved husband Will be a
severe shock to her. The eincereet sym-
pathy of adl will be extended to the afflicted
family and the bereaved friends.

at Wiuthrop, will be held on Friday, March
7, at 1:30 o'clock.—We underetand that
Mr. George McEwen, M P., has Secured the
Seaforth flax mill and will operate it during
the 'coming season. Th e will be geed news
to the people of Seaforth and vicinity. The
flex mill is an important indus rya and its -

the village of Zst ich, an electric light plant,
consisting of dynamos, p lee, wires, volts
meters, etc. Ths plaintilf complained that
the plant put in by the defendant was
second-hand andlitriferior in quality to that
contracted for, ! nd did not answer the
purpoee for whith it was intended, and that
portion of the aniount was re -adjudicate by
reason of a settlement of an action inj a
divieion court, �f which that portien formed
a part of the claim. Held, Britton J. dis
senting, that the findings of fact below
were correct; thet the action was not for
breach of warranIty, but damages for not
getting new dynros contracted for, but old
ones repainted a d of less value: Smith v.

choir, who had the matter in hand, spared
no pains to enure success, and their expect-
ations were fully realized. Por a wonder
the gentlemen, on this oecasi n, outnumber-
ed the ladies, and conireque tly several of
them went without a striver, but the little
boys kindly gave up their bo es to the older
ones, and as many as poseible; were supplied.
The first part of the evening was spent in
playing all aorta of gam, and then
the first part of the prOgramme was
