PANE'S CELERY COMPOUND
ERB flREAT SPRING MEDICINE THAT RESTORES
AILMti FEMALES TO l'ERFEOT HEALTH,
MRS. ADAMSON SAYS:
"1 Oan Never Say Too Much in
Favor of Painei's Celery
Compound."
One of the oldest and beat edited monthly
magazines published in America, in a recent
netaieg article, declares that more than half
the revenue of physicians is derived from the
treatinent of female', and that about one
easeji every hundred is correctly diagnosed,
„showing that curer are extremely rare.
The important knowledge gained by wo-
men of every age about Paine's Celery Com-
pound and the special and peculiar benefits
it bestows on females suffering from ailments
peculiar to their sex, as well as from the
common ills of life, have made Pine's Cel-
ery Compound the most popular and trust-
ed. home medicine of the (ley.
In spring time, when woman's nervous
strength is overtaxed by home work and
dirties, and the constant demands of eocial
funetions, is is then that Paine's-Celery Com-
pound shows its invigorating and vitalizing
effecte, as the precious medicine is used from
day 4 day.
It gedokly banishes nervousness, prostra-
tion, weakness, debility, languor, despond
may, and the many nameless ills that come
to wornen of all ages.
Mr. R, Adamson, Head of Millstream,
Kings Co., N. B., IMP
" feel it a duty to briefly teatify regard-
ing the value of Paine's Celery Compound.
Since childhood I suffered from sick head -
wales, neuralgia and constipation. Had at-
tacks tenee a week, which kept me confined
to bed. Have been treated by a number of
physicians without beneficial results. I pro-
sured six beetles of Paine's Celery Com-
pound, which was strongly recommended to
me, and After a ohort, time I found the[ new

not had a return of my old troubles. I can
never say too much in favor of Paine's Cel -

PAINTERS AND PAPER-
HANUERS.
Here is a Messa,ge from a Trades-
man to His Fellow -Workmen
all Over Canada.
Pe Toe, Oat., Mar, 25. -Richard
of Picton,is a well-known painter and paper-
hanger, Mr. Kelly requests the publication
of the following
I wish this to catch the eye of every
painter and wiper- hanger in Canada. We
all of as suffer from Kidney Disease. There
eeems to be something about our work
which brings it on. I have found a cure.
Dodd's Kidney Pills will cure the word
ease of Kidney Trouble that any of us have
ever had. I suffered for three yeara My
back was dreadful.
"Inflammation of the Kidneys followed,
and I went to bed. The first box of Dodd's
Kidney Pills helped me. Four boxes cured
me. They are the painter's and paper-
hanger's best friend. Everybody in Picton
knows me, and the people can vouch for
what I say of my own case."

Brain Labor and Hand Labor.
As one man toiled with hie shovel another
watched him. -
The watcher was elean and well groomed,
while the shoveler was dirty and grimy, and
as he toiled the watcher took a mental pho-
tograph, took him in from the top of hie
peaked cap to the toe of Ms hob nailed
boot.
Then he left the shoveler and painted a
word picture about the luxury of labor, and
a sound, sweet sleep; wove a story about
the fellow, made him a hero, greaey and
grimy as he was.
Six o'clock ringe. The shoveler straight-
ens himself and starts for home, and his lit-
tle girl runs out to meet him. He stoops
and kisses her, and there is a little grime
left upon her cheek, honest rouge, paint of
which she need never be afraid.
There is no indigestion in this home, but
it's comfortable, and there's love and con-
tentment.
Home, sweet home is written on the well
worn carpet, on the pictures, on the old or.
[gan-horne, sweet home on all.
The cat purrs loudly beside the wood -box
behind the stove.
And the man who watched, outlines,
sketches, fills in, shades and colors that
picture of words in a day and sells it for ten
dollars.
Tea dollars.
The other chap with the shovel couldn't
sweat that much out in a- week.
One -is a brain laborer.
The other is a hand laborer.

A Fr nchman in Scotland.
11 DANCED A SdOVII REEL,
A Fronc man has been giving recently in
an Edinbu gh newspaper his experiences
during a tour through Scotland. His latest
notes deal ith a visit to the mansion of Mr.
Gallosh, a !tlasgow dignitary. Here is an
extract :
" Wewe e lefb with scarcely half an hour
of the ladi s' society. But it was a very
hilarious h lf hour. Amidet universal shouts
I was initiated into the mysteries of a Scotch
reel. Oae f the guests placed the poker
and the to ge on the floer in the form of a
cross for imself to dance upon. I was
provided «ith the shovel and a handsome
paper-cutt a similarly arranged, and in-
structed to imitate as closely as possible his
movements The youngest Mies Gallosh
played an inspiring air ; and, my faith, we
did dance 1 1 cannot tell whether this is
the way in whit% the national dance is gen-
erally pert rmed. I have my doubts, since
a few such treasures would leave the draw-
ing -room d void of furniture. For myself,
I broke ' he paper -cutter, destroyed the
shovel, anc upset a large cabinet full of
curios. M vise], vis was almost equally
suecessfel vith his own implements, and in
addition or shed an jialaid table into frag-
ments and hook two clocks off the mantle -
piece. Oh that reel ! How hot I was. If
I had had y way I should have leapt into
a river an swum till 1 had drunk it dry.
However, had plenty of time to cool down,
for not till two o'clock had struck did the
guests think of departing. And then they
were perau ded to sit and think for a little
longer whi e they consumed a night-cap,'
as our ho.t facetiously served the seven-
teenth, eig teenth, or whatever it was glass.
They wer very affectionate when they
parted wit me, but they walked out of the
room as et eight as soldiers on parade, and
I could ov rhear them talking business with
Gallosh in he hall."

The regular ctistoniers nlodded approv-

the house had been .previously that no
goods could be exchanged.
The first day the signs were up several
sums of money were refun ed. When the
store opened the next mor ing the signs
were gone, and a literary man was en-

was a reason for this. Late in the after-

young, man from down t wn bought a
pair of 50cent suspende s in the etore

a floorwalker and said that they were un-

"Very well," said the 11 orwalker affa-

"No," replied the purcheser, "1 believe

"Just as you please," 6 id the smiling
floorwalker. "Will you ha''e another pair
of suspenders?"
"I think not; just I k around and
let you know when I find omething that

In less than half an lour the down
town young man called the floorwalker
to a counter and said, " 'hat's what I
want; those, with the silver backs." And
he pointed to an expen ive toilet set
which comprised dnilitar hairbrushes,
silver mug rind shaving brush, razors,
manicure set, 'soapbox an a fine leather
case to keep them in.
"But yoa're joking," sal the floorwalk-

"I can't help that," re lied the other.
"I'm taking you at your !weird. There's
your sign, 'Money refunded; or you can
exchange for anything in the store.' It's
optional with me, and I wish to exchange
for 'anything in the store.' This is the
'awe -thing' that suits me."1
The wraugled for abule, iled the
