The proceedings At Wingham, Dr.

the follo-wing day by enthasiastic and
jubilant Reformers of. East Huron are
thus detailed in the Wingham. Times:
Last Tuesday was a greap day for the
people of East Huron in. general, and a

'receipt of these announcements tae Grit
thermometer kept going down, down,
while it was easily discerned from the
wild shouts of dok that repeatedly arbse
a little further down street, that the
Conservatives were wild with delight.
So far Far -row's majority was 158, awl
there was only Grey to hear from. That
township gave a Reform. majority of 100
in the rast Dominion election, and, of
course, it could not be depended upon to

The Tories claimed the day, and the
Gaits did not seem at all dfisposed to dis-
pute their claim. Grey wined to be a
long time in sending in the returns, but
when it did report it did so with both
feet, to use a vulgarism. i When it was
announced that Grey gave Dr. Maeden-
ald, the magnificent majority of 219, the
excitement became most intense. The
Tory shouts suddenly ceased, and at the
same time the shouts we -re taken up. by
hundreds of veiees that hadn't given a
shout all evening, and which were fresh
and strong. It was the Reformers' turn
to feel jubilant, with their man elected -
beyond dispute by 61 of a majority. Dr.
Macdonalrt, after addressing the crowd
in the halfl, and those on the street in
front of the building, retired ta hisresi-
dence, Shortly afterwards his excited
and jubilant friends besieged his place,
took him outside, heisted hina on the

were thronged with people, and fin -ally
drew up at the town halt, agliere a con-

received a continued ovation all along
the liae of march, awl for an hour the
town resounded with checirs and shouts -
expressive of the delight :of the people
