Winchelsea public school, in the town-
ship of Utborae, one day last week.
While the scholars were out during the
noon hour, a dispute arose between
some boys, when Andrew Thompson
stabbed John !Heywood in the thigh,
the boys who Witnessed the affair were
very much , frightened and sent for the
master, Mr. G. W. Holman, whit on his
arrival proceeded to bind up the wound,
but the cut wart so deep that he could
not close it within about an inch. The
boy fainted and they were forced to
send him -home in a buggy, Young
Thompson received a sound 'thrashing
and a severe reprimand from the teach-
er and was also forbidden to Icarry a
jack knife to school. This should prove
a warning to boys to be arefil how
