LONDON, April 23,—The Mark Lane axpress, in a review of the British grain trade for the past week, says :—The wheat crop has materially improved during the weekt and trade has been firmer. Flour was steadier. Barley Was in favor of buyers: In foreign wheats there was a small business. The floating bulk is steadily decreasing. Flour and maize were firmer. and oar - goes off the coast inactive. There were 29 arrivals, 8 cargoes were sold, 9 with- drawn, and 12 remain, including 9_ of red winter and 2 of California. Sales of Euglish wheat during the week, 54,- 556 quarters, at 41s 8d, against 36,138 quartere at 46s 3d for the corresponding period of last year. Live Stook Markets. MONTRZAre April 24.—The best West- ern steers sold at 6i.3 and second quality 5o to 54c ; third ranged from 313,to per pound live weight. Sheep were few m number, and sold fiom 35 to $12 each.
