Sylvester had to operate on John's right foot, removing all the forward part well up into the instep. The patient was put under the influence of chloroform, and has done weri since the operation. Thomas will getoff better, losing only a part 'of one ef his toes. --A divorce has been granted to the wife of Liente-iant Governor Tabor, of Colorado, by =item' agreement on the ground of desertion. The agreement was madeta accomplish a settlement and to make things easy for a decree. Tabor deeded to his wife real property, valued at $25 000. He also purchased her an interest in 5 hotel, peying $38,- 000. In view of the fact that Tabor is a prominent menaher for United States Senator, the affair created a good deal ef interest throughout the State. —A Toronto lawyer who has resided in Winnipeg for sonae ' time and who recently returned from that city says; In no city, is there such a bustle and business air.
