teacher, has been engaged to teach in
the county -of Welland. H. H. is one of
our anccessfal teeohers, and will -do
well. However; before leaving he car-
ried off Miss Helen, eldest daughter of
D. King, Esq., wisely determining to
travel the road no longer in single
wretchedness. We with them success.
CHEESE MEETING.—The annual meet-
ing of the Bluevale cheese company,
was held in Patterson's ball on Wed-
nesday January 10th. A large number
of patrons and abareholders were pre-
sent and all passed off quietly. The
following are extracts from the state-
ments read: Pounds of milk brought
in during the season, 2,031.068; pounds
of cheese 196,665; pounds of milk to
pound of cheese 10.2e, Average price
for the season 11 09c. Non shareholders
received per gallon for milk 8.85c., and
shareholders 9.15c. Cost of making,
including salaries and supplir, 570. per
100 lbs. Total amount of , money re-
ceived $22,170. When we consider the
large amount of money paid out in six
months one cannot but see the benefit
of having such a factory. in our midst.

ACCIDENT. — n Friday last a young

of MoKillop, met with a very painful
accident. He was drawing wood from

OBITUARY.— Another of the pioneers
has passed away in the person of Mrs.
Robert Hogg, who died atthe residence
of her son, Mr. J ihn Hogg, on Wednes-
day morning last haying attained the
unusual age of 8 years. Mrs. Hogg

was a eiitive of umfrieehire, Canobie
Parish, Scotland, and tame to this
country in 1842, nd With her husband
removed to Mcli llop in 1849, and set-
tled on lot 28, co cession 5, McKillop,
where she email ed to reside until her
death. Mr. Hog died about ten years
ago. Thirty -fou y-eers ago this was a
pretty wild, district, and Mrs. Hogg with
her husband, eodured all the hardships
and privationa, as well as the joys and
pleasures of pioneer life. She was of a
kind and generous disposition, and few
possess the love and esteem of those
who know them best more completely
than she did. She leaves behind four
sons and °tie daughter, besides a con-
siderable circle ofriends, who will long
f
remember her w th the most kindly and
affectionate feelings. .

lb., and ordinary rough stetrs and dry

the forenoon the following property, viz: Lots
numbers 29 and 30, in the 1st donceseion of the
said township of Stanley, in the county of Huron,
except village lots 1, 2, 8, 4,5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and

and is in a fair state of cultivation. The . build-
ings thereon consist of an excellent one and a

kitchen, 18x30. and two frame barns ,on each lot
•*ith stables in connection, all being in a fair
,etate of repeir. A never falling ere ing creek
-flows through the premises, near to the barns,
,and adjoining the house ie it good well with
pump. There is also a good orchard consistieg
of about 21 acres, well stocked with fi int trees in

plaintiff's solicitors; the balance without interest
