Clegg, Webster, Laird, Chapman, Skel-
ton, Govenlock, Carrie, Blashili and
and Welsh. Thefair, considering
everything, was a grand. success, and
will no doubt be followed by a better

be appointed inspectoi of municipal
drain, on first and second -concessions -
Carried. Moved by Hi Mooney, sec-
onded, by H. Gosinan, that Alex. King
be paid 5300 as poet payment for mu-
nicipal drain, on first and second con -
cess -ions ---Carried. Moved by D. Van-
alstine, seconded by II. Gosman, that
James Newcombe be reappointed col-
lector at a salary of 675, and tha.t he be
required to furnish security to the
amount of $14,000 at next Council
meeting, the clerk to notify him to that
effect -Carried. Moved by H. Mooney,
seconded by H. GOS1118;11, that Simon
Eaket be granted an order for 5300, as
part payment on Hogg's bridgebut
this Council does not accept the bridge

of Howick Council, it was moved by
Mt. Colok,. seconded: by Mr. Jaques, 1
that John Menzie be :appointed referee
to equalize Union school sections on
Wallace an d Ho wiCk boundary, the
Council having notified the Reeve of
Wallace in due time,' and lie failing tso
reply, which gave this Council to under-
stand that the equalization -was to stand
as last year, and was the cause of the I
delay in said appointment—Carried.

$1.10 for ditch across' the road, calicos -
aim 1, lot $—Carried. Moved by Mr.

two old collectors be dispensed with,
