The cost of the extension will be about $50,000, of which Wingiiam, Morris and lCurnberry are expected to contribute $30,000. The Winghare Council have passed a reso- lution agreeing to submit a by-law for a bonus. of $11,000, providing', tho road is assumed by the Grand Trunk Com- pany, and the Councils of the other municipalities uamed are being operat- ed to induce them to follow the example of Wingham. — On Wednesday of last week, while at the barn raising of Mr. Maine, near Harlock, in the township of Hullett, an accident took place which might have proved fatal. While the raising was going on, a brace fell from the top of the building and . struck Mr. Wm. McIntosh on the top of the head; it struck end foremost, and knocked him insensible for some time. It inflicted a cut about 4 inches in length,; and only for the thick fur cap which he wore at the time it would have been worse, probably -fatal.
