• That a boy loves his m -other, but
at the same time suspects she is a
goosey.
That, a boy respects his father's feel-
ings less than his muscle.
That a girllooksupan her mother as
a sort of elder sister. • • •
That a mother loves her bov because
it is her nature to love, anything that
teases her almost to death.
That a, mother loves her girl because
she knows that none o.- her sex can be
happy unless loved. .,
That a father loves- is boy because
the young rascal co stantly reminds
him of his own happy `boyhood.
That a father loves itis girl because—
because—oh, nonsense ! no sensible per-
son would ask for a reason.
That notwithstanding old people -
thiuk young people fo as, very few peo-
ple but would run thrisk of being
fools, provided they could be young
again..
That inasmuch as e erybody tells his
own biography, and nc body listens to it,
it matters little what - e is or has been.

Thais of a ilrrtany Doctor.
One morning I remarked that there
was an unusually large number of per-
sons in the waiting room of the dis-

girls, who looked as unlike persons re-

asked of the first of these who present- -
ed. herself.- . .
"Mother sent me," she said, dropping,
a cc urtesy, ;'for a, couple of doses of
oil," and she hautFted. Me a small bottle,
which I filled. - - ' LI
To env surprise, the3 all wanted the
same. "A little oil, doctor, if you
plaise." Well, castor -p 1 is au innocent
medicine, and notlikely, I 03o -tight to be
used as an article of diet, so I filled each
eq;
of the bottles with thoil, -wondering
much what sort of epidemic it wass that
attacked so many families at once.
Next Sunday on comic a into the vil-
lage. church, the myst ry was solved,
There was an unmistal able odor in the
air, and the unusual' sleek hair of
many of the boys and iris bore witness
tt, the use the oil had een put to. The
next dispensary -day th re was quite_ a
crowd in the waiting loom, evidently
war:ting oil. I was pr pared for this,
and announced that no person should
receive castor-oil who 0
