it John !Ward; harness maker and liveryman,
"LN -L ef thisitown, having originated and spread
a report that a dire disease; inownas Glanders,
had shown itself among tha horses belonging to
Mr, Edward Phritie, who conducts a livery en
ni y premise in connection with my hotel, allow
me to state ipa the most emphatic manner that
tie report isle base fabrication. There has been
suspicionof ally such disease -at any time.
The appended certificate, under the hands of two
favorably knOwn and legally qualified veterinary
surgeons, entirely disposes of this false am:na
tion. It doe t not reflect any credit on Mr. Ward
that he should in such a cowardly, underhand,
manner, attepapt to ruin the business of a eu
cessul rial. Mr. Christie, by his obliging man -
Isere and proMpt attention, has gained the con-
fidence of the commercial and general puhli,
whose patronage of him has been liberal and
flattering, for which h.= and I tender our best
thanks. ALEX. DAVIDSON.
Comnaercial Hotel, Seafoth,June 24, 1880.
Ste.forthatme 23rd, 1880.
This is to certify that we have this day era -
ined the horses belonging to Mr. Christie's liver
staole, and find them entirely free from Glander
or any other Contagious disease.
