applicants for the position of principal.
As the salary has been only $500 for
some years past, and a number asked
still less—some es low as 4425—it can

those willing to "teach the youeg idea
how to shoot" must be considerably on
the increase.

ment Roll of tlae said Corperation, being for the
year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy -
Nine, is the sum of 1it-0 Hundred and Sixty -

AND WHEREAS, the existing debt of the
said Corporation is as followa : Three Thousand
Dollars, borrowed under the authority of By -Law
No, 46, of the said Town of Sea:forth, and inter-
est thereon at Seven per cent per annum. pay-
able half -yearly, from the First day of Septer"nber
1.879; and Fifteen Hundred Dollars, borrowed
under By -Law Ne. 100, of the said Town of See -
forth, and interest thereon at Seven per cent.
per anmarn, from the Bra day of July, 1879;
and Six Thousand Dollars, borrowed under the
authority of By -Law No. 8 A, of the said Town
of Seaforth, and interest thereon at Seven per
cent. per annum, vac -able half -yearly, from the
First day of July, 187b ; and there is nothing in
&MST and unpaid, either for principal or inter-
est.
AND WHEREAS, for paying the said interest
and sinking lund it will require an equal annual
special rate of one mill turd 33,182-56,468 of a
mil in the dollar, ia addition to all ratea to be
levied in each year.
AND WHEREAS, it is made necessary to ap-
point the time and place for taking the votes of
the duly qualified electors; and for appointing
Returning Officers to take the votes of the said
electors at the meeting.
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the COX,.
poration of the Town of Seaforth, in the Co nnty
of Huron :
1.—That it shall be lawfol for the Mayor a the
aaid Corporation to raise by way of Than, frOD1
any person or persons, body or bodies corporate,
who may be willing to advance the fame upon
the credit of the Debentures hereinafter men-
tioned, at slam of money not exceeding in the
whole the sum of Eleven Thousand Dollars, and
to Ctill se the same to be paid into the hands of
Ole Treasurer of the said Town, for the pwpose
and with the object above recited.
' IL—That it shall be lawful for tbe said Mayor
to cause any number of Debentures to be made
for srich sums of money as may he required, not
lees than Cne Hundred Dollars each, and not
exceeding in the aggregate the sum of Eleven
Thousand Dollars, and that the said Debentures
shall be sealed with the seidof the said Corpora-
tion, and eigned by the Meyor aril the Treasurer
thereof.
HT.—net tbe said Debentures shall be made
payable in twenty-five years at furthest from the
day hereinafter mentioned for this 13y -Law to
take effect, at the office of the Treasurer of the
said Corporation, and khan have attached to
them Coupons for the payment of inter*.
IV.—That the said Debentures shall bear in-
terest at and after the rate of Six per cent per
annum from the day, mentioned for this By -Law
to take effect, -which interest Shall be payable on
the Fifteenth daye of June and December in each
year, at the office of the said Treasurer.
V.—That for thepurpoie of paying the interest
and forming a sinking fund, for the payment of
the -said Debentures, au rqnui special rate of one
88,132-66,468 rails in the dollar shall, in addition
to all other rates, be raised, levied and collected
in each 3 ear upon all the rateable property inthe
said Corporation during the continuance of the
Etdd Debentures, or any of them.
VI --That this By -Law shall take effect and
come into operation on the Fifteenth day of De-
cember, A. D. 1879.
VII.—That the Totes of the Eleeters a the
said Municipality shall be taken on this By -Law
