ed and running away. Mr. Horn was
rendered unconscious from the severe
shock he received, but we are ,, glad .to.

_Mr, William Graham, an old resi-
dent of Ashfield, died. seine days ago at
the age of 65 years. He was born in
the county of Armagh, Ireland, and
came to this country when very young.
He was a man of great energy -and force
of character, of the keenest sense of
honor, and his probity and benevolent,
kindly disposition commanded for him.

How a Clerk Robbed: His Ern-
plovers.
For. some days ,rumors have been
afloat in the city in reference to the fall
.of a trusted clerk in a dry goods estab-
lishmeut on Colborne street.. For a
time there- was .an effort made- -to sup-
press the facts out of deference to those
with -whom he is connected. here and
-elsewhere. Nov that the matter has.
been bruited abroad, and silence on our
part can prove bf ,no advantage, we,
therefore, lay the facts as far as we can
.ascertain there before our readers. •
.Messrsa Taylor & Harvey opened out
a stock of dry and fancy goods on Colt
borne street, in this city, about Septem-
ber, +1877. One of the first to seek em-
ployment was a Mr. S. G. Dunn, who

Mr Stewart Campbell, County
Clerk of Perth, died at his residence in
Ellice, ust outside the corpoietion of
Stratfo d, -on Friday, 6th inst. He was
in his 3rd. year, •and his career has
been o e of great, usefulness. In com-
pany ith several other old settlers, he
was i strumental in disuniting the
county of Perth from the union of
Huron Perth and Bruce, and filled the
positio of Clerk from that_time-1853
-till a present. His genial face and
