V V assessment roll to be resident on the grope hereinafter set forth to be
benefitted by the deepening of said creek have petiti ned the Council oflthe said
Town of Seaforth prayin that the said Conned would pass a Byelaw provlidin for
the deepening of the sal creek and shewing that all t t portion of the said unt-
cipality lying South of the Northern Boandaty of Lot in the first Concession of
MoKillop, in the County of Huron, and of- the line of seek bou . . . • if the sarae
-were extended to the East and West boundaries of th said Municipality would be
materially benefitted thereby.
AND WHEREAS thereupon the sa d Council procured au exernination to be
made by D. S. Campbell, Esq., P. L. S.,lbeing a person competent for such purpose
of the said Creek proposed to be deepened, and has also procured plans and esti-
mates of the work to be made by the satd D. S. Campbell, and an nt to be
made by him of the real property to be benefitted b such dee g ting as
nearly as he can the proportion of benefit wbich in opinion will be , 1ved is
consequence of such deepening by eve road and 1 or portion Of lot, the said
assessment so made and the report of t e said D. S, ,Oampbell in respec thereof
and of the said deepening being as folio s : ,
To The Mayor, dle., of the Town, of eaforth :
Under instructions received feom y u, I have matle an exa ' tion f gilver
Creek and of the Lands to be benefitted by the deepeidng of the Cr ek, and I have
1st. That it is desirable to deepen the said Creeke„
2nd. That the probable cost of dee ening the same in accordance with the

,plans herewith submitted will be $1,09 60.
3rd. That in order to get sufficient all it -will be necessary to ettend the` work
into Lot Number Ten in the Second Con elision, H. Re S., Tuckersmith, a distance
of about sixteen rods from the Southerly llimite of the Town of Seaforth, but in -my
opinion no portion of the said Land,shotild be chargeable with the cost of 'any part
of said work.
4th. That the annual cost of maintaining the s5id work in repair should be
borne by the said Town of Seaforth. , .
5th. The lands to be benefitted by the deepening of the aaid Creek and the
amounts to be assessed against the same respectively tbe assessment being in pro-
portion to the extent the Lands are respectively benefitted are as follows :

AND WHEREAS, the said Connell are of opinion that the deepening of such
creek is desirable.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the said Municipal Council of the Town of Sea -
forth, pursuant to the provisions f an Act, of the Legislatuee of Ontario, pawed in
the Thirty -Sixth year of Her Mai ty's reign, Chaptered Foety-Eight,
1st. That the said report, pla and estimates be adopted, and the said deep-
ening, and the Works connected erewith, be made and constructed. in accordance
therewith.
2. That foe the purpose of p the sum ef Nine Hundred and One Dollars,
being the amount charged again.st the said lands to be benefitted as aforesaid, other
than roads belonging to the MunietpaliV, the amounts of the value of the improve-
ments set opposite the several lots undermentioned, (and lif the said Report and
Assessment abo7e set forth,) over 5:nd above all other rates, ehall be aseessed and
levied during the year 1877, in th5 setae manner and at the same time as taus
for general purposes of the said Mtinieipality are levied, upon the undermentione1
lots and parts of lots : -
