During tbe first 'three days of this week
an immense amount of grain was deliver-
ed in town, and the streets resumed their
old appearance. Merchants, also, were
kept very busy, since sleighing has dis-
appeared things have been dull again.
Pork is in good demand, but there is not
a great deal offerings: There seems to be
an over supply of wood this season, and,
consequentlyprices rule low. Butter is
in good demand. We quote: ,

BEEVES, —The reciepts during the past
week show some falling off, having been
only 705 head against 901 the previous
week. The qualityewas a fair average,
but there were a few extra fat cattle of-
fered. The demand, continued good, and
nearly all arriving found ready stne at re-
munerative prices. We quote first- class,
$5 to $5 25-; second-class, $4 to $4 50;
and third-class, $3125 to $3 50. The
following sales were reported. Four ears,
averaging 1,160 lbs,' at ‚35; one car, aver-
aging 1,400 lbs, at $5 25; four cars, averaging 1,100 lbs, at $48; three care, av-
eraging 1,300 lbs, at ‚367; two ears, av-
eraging 1,050 lbs at ‚334; two care, av-
eraging 1,000 lbs; at $30 ; two cars of
oxen, averaging 1,690 lbs, at ‚378; one
