• MONTREAL, Aug. 11, 1875.
There was not a large attendance at
this marketto-day. Mileh cows were
less in number than for 'softie time past,
and there appeared to be more demand
for them. : The prices obtained were
naudh better than on last Friday. There
were several extra, OW(3 on the market.
The highest price was obtained by Mr.
R. bleintosla of Ormiston, who sold a
cow for 348; good Country cows sold for
$30 to $35 eaeh ; inferior cows at $20 to
$28 each. Thero were not many calves
on the market, but some of them were of
extra quality. A habitant had a beauti-
ful heifer calf, two months old, for which
he was asking $15, or about as much as
would buy some two year old heifers
that were on the market. Beef cattle
were fairly, numerous, and sold -from $3
to $4 25 pdr 100 lbs. Sheep ancl larahs
were in fair supply, the former selling
from $3 to $5 50, and the latter from $2
to $3 50 each. There were 4 old hogs and
as many yching pigs offered ; the former
sold from $10 to $11 each and the latter
