The con - res tract may be let, however, without further loss of time. I felt strongly in- clined to recommend an iron bridge for this place, and since last Council meet- ing have seen several iron bridges such as are used on common roaels. There is one on the.Duuclas road. near Hamilton, highly spoken of and only now finished. was somewhat disappointed in seeing it, and do not consider it well adapted for gravel roads. There is altogether too much timber used in its construction. The jeisting, floor and stringers are all of vtood, and, as a whole, is very little in ad.vante of the How Truss, is very much more expensive, and may also be liable to accident from intense frost in winter. I would, therefore, recommend a bridge similar to the one at Brussels, which if well built and. carefully covered itt llrucelield, on SATURDAY, Feb. 6, at the hour of ing inf. °rotation we shell again gevn ,cull- wiil be heal in the Pown a , Tru-ttees to set,. e fl,r1 PlIbile SO11001 330ilaX1 ill this info from it when ; it appears tn the in o'clock A..
