AN INCIDENT OF THE PUSH 11E -
HELLION,
Written for the Huron Expositor.
Old Corporal Philips, of the :North
Cork Militia, (a respectable and intellig-
ent mnJ having beenWith the regiment
during the whole of that terrible time,
used to interest his friends by relating `
manyanecdotes of adventure and hair-
breadth escapes of which he was ,cogni-
zant, and as„the followiug may be inter-
esting at this late date, give it iii the

The North. Cork Was quartered in
Wexford. We had lost several men in
an encouuter with the rebels a few; miles
from the city, arid the few that remain-
