So mach in reply to `' Scratator," and
now I come to "Huron," the second on
the list. , You remark ine your editorial,
"that Rev. Mr. Ure also sent us a let-
ter on the subject., but neither did it
so far as We eemember grapple with the
charges brought against Mr. Miller
. -
Nothing Was said by: Mr. Ure to rebut
this charge, and, therefore, with all re-
spect for that gentleman, we did- not
ablish his letter " In your editorial
you da Mr. Ure an injustice. The pub-
lic woull certainly infer from your re-
marks that Mr.. Ure tried to whitewash
me, but that, in your estimation, he had
signally failed. 'in my letter to. you
I cemplained not only of " Scrutator's"
statements, but also of those from
Huron'? and " Viator." Rev. Mr. Ure
did not reply to Scrutetor" .for the
; simple reason tirat he knew nothing
about the matter, he being present at a
ineetMg of the General Assembly at the
time. Bat he clid reply to Huron,"
the wo'rat of the three. The substance
of this bomr, aunication was that Mr. -
Miller was appointed tay the Presbytery
a member of a Sabbath School Commit-
tee, for the purpose of organieine°a. Con-
vention in connection with the Presby-
tery. Although the Committee was ap-
pointed. unanimously, "at a subsequent
zederunt- one of the ministers, whose
• name was on the Committee, but who
was not present when it was appointed,
rose and. objected to the Committee, or
to act ort it, declining to state his rea-
sons, though he hiated pretty broadly
what they were. The other members
also, objected till the Committee refused
to act and the matter dropped.. It leaked
out that the ground of objection was be-
cause he could not conscieetiously act on
such a Committee with Mr. Miller, on
account Of.his advocacy of Dr. Sangster."
In plain 'English the writer wished the
tens of th6usancls of readers of the Globe
throaghoat the eyelid to know that Mr. F
Miller was a man so bad morally that 21
