Grey.
DESTAUCTIVE FlRE.—The saw mill on
the Sixteenth Concession of Grey, the
propertr of Messrs. Mabee & Macdon-
aid, too fire on the night of the 16th
inst., and was burned to the ground, to-
- gether with a quantity of lath and sev-
eral thousand feet of lumber, surrounding
the rait., a set of bob sleiglis and other
artieles. The main ate& of lumber was
fortunately all saved, through the ener-
gy and perseverance of the neighbors, of
whom 4 great number were ladies. If
the -wind had been blowing in the con -
tray lirection, the stock and all the
hoitses surrounding the mill could not

to hav originated from the furnace.

ACCIDENT.—A melancholy and
fatal aecident occurred on Tuesday last
to a son of Mr. Joseph Long, Con. 12,
Grey, a boy about six years old. The
little fellow was attempting to climb a
fence when he pulled. the top rail over on
himself, and falling to the ground, the
rail struck him on the breast. He died.
in 15 minutes after being taken into the
house.'
