last, by blie auction at the Commer-
cial Het 1. Mr: William Fowler was
•the purehaser, 'at $4,780. • The farm is
finely situated, and the soil good, but
the buikings are not first-class. Mr.
Fowler owns the 'farm on the opposite
side Of th,e road from it.

• ACCIDENT. —7- On 'Thursday, Oct. 23,
as• Rev. Father • Anebro, of Irish -
town, was on a visit to the township of
Morris, and while attempting to pass a
wagon which was tied at a gate, his
horse took fright at something in the
wagon, and turned suddenly round, up-
setting the buggy aid throwing Mr.
' Ahsbro Out. His arm wag broken above
the elbow, and he.received other, minor
injuries. ' The reverend geritleMan is now
lying at Murray's . Hotel in this village,
and we are glad to learn. that he is ' rer
covering as rapidly as could bet, expected.

Grey Plowing atch:

The Grey township plovring match took
place on the Eighth Conceseion of Grey,
about two miles from. Brussel, on Tues-
day laSt. The weather was about as un-
favorable as it could. be, a heavy MO*
storm. prevailing during the entire day.
Notwithstanding this •draWback, how-
ever; the plowmen, of whonti there was a
good representation in each lq the classes,
battled bravely with the eeillents, and
each completed his allotted. space before
- dar . The men plowed on the farm of
Mr. ,George Crooks, and th boys on Mr.
Jan Sinclair's farm. The gelound, had.

SUDDEN DEexer.—On Sethi day night
last, a young man named Routley, about
18 years of age, died very suddenly on
the road near Elimville, township of Us -
borne. He had been working in. the vil-
lage, and "a returning to his home in
comteany with three or foir others.
When on the way, he ran a short dis-
tance ahead of his companions, and. when
they got up to him they notieecl that he
• was staggering, but thought he was only
fooling, and passed. on and left him. In
a few minutes another of the party came
