The number of boxes offered from each factory ranged from 50 to 70 cents. The higher priced cheese was considered by buyers as very fine for the season, but that which went at a low price was un- even and some of it "lacking meat" and tough, showing the effect of the skim- mer. - There was a large delivery of butter, but prices are off about 3 cents from lase week's rates. Sales _may be quoted at fro, n 37 cents to 39 oeuts, the latter . fig- ure being top price for packages showing nice color and texture. We heard of a few extra -things goingat 40 cents, but perhaps these can harly be included in our quotations of the market. Advices from abroad are to the second week in April, when best Americen cheese was selling in London at 74 shillings. SEAFORTH, May 1, 1873. There is scarcely any change in the quotations this week. In the absence of transactions in grain it is almost impos- sible to -set a price, but the figures quot- ed will be found as nearly correct as pos- sible.. Butter is becoming more plauti- fur and.'prides have slightly declined. Eggs rein firm at quotedprices. Hay is still in good demand, and. not ;' got. The "'be fig res quoted are the. Highest` which have been paid on, our market during the past week. Oats are, as usu- very scarce, and were it not for the large shipments brought in from the Western States there would be an oat famine. As it is, many farmers have greats difficulty in procuring enough suit- able for seed.
