Lynch Law in Ohio ---Three Mur-
derers Hanged to a Tr€e.
A despatch from Salina, Ohio, states
that some three hundred persons assem-
bled on the night of the 8th inst., and
took from the jail three of the four men
who were arrested last week for murder-
ing Mary Secor, a girl agedfourteen, and
hanged them to a tree near the, jail. The.
men who were hanged were Absalom
Kimble, Jacob Kimble and Alexander
McCloud: The fourth -one, also named.
Kumble, was not interfered with, as it
was through his confession' that the
-others were arrested, and an examination
proved that he had; nor, been directly
,concerned in the outrage and murder.
The mob suirounded the jail, and after
securing the guard and jailer, took the
three men and proceeded with them to
the spot where the girl's body was found
;.and hanger; them to the tree under which
the terrible (rime was committed.

C4UTION
To the Public of th , British Provinces of North
America.
I BEG most respeetfnlly to acquaint the public
of the British North American Provinces that
in May, 1871, I caused the-busiuees at 80 Maiden-.
Lane, New York, for the sale of Holloway's Pills
and Ointment, which were, np to that tirno pre-
pared by William Brown, now deceased, to he
closed. I regret to 1 say that I' have reason to
know that the xnauagernent of the late business
had for some years, i many ways, been most cor-
rupt, and it may be that the Pills and Oiutment
were not prepared with the care I have always de-
sired. Those who dq not wish to be deceived by
buying spnrions medicines, which are now likely to
emanate from the States or elsewhere, to possess
themselves of the genuine. Holloway's Pills and
-Ointment, manufacttjxed by me in London, Eng-
land, will do well to see that each pot and box
bears the British Government stamp, on which is
engraved the words, " Holloway's Pills and Oint-
ment, and that the address on the label is 533,
Oxford -street, London, where only they are menu-
factured,-and. in no other part of the world. The
retail prices are on tire labels in British currency,
and not in dollars and cents. No representative
of mine will ever travel through any part of the
British Provinces or the United States, either to
sell or to take orders for my Pills and Ointment,
and as I have reason to believe that attempts will
probably be mado to 4eceivo the public iu this wniy
by persons calling upon medicine vendors, falsely
representing that they are acting for me and with
ray knowledge and consent, I deem it advisable to -
put the public on the rguard against any such de-
ceptions. I most earnestly entreat all those who
they read this Advertisement that they -be pleased,
in the public interest to communicate the purport
of the same to their riends that - they may not be
defrauded of their In ney by purchasing, perhaps,
worthless imitations of the genuine Holloway's
Pills and Ointment. I would ask, as a great favor,
that, should it come o the knowledge of any per -
sun that spurious met reines are being made or sold
in my name, he be pl need to send me all the par-
ticulars he can collects respecting the same, that is
to say, the name and address of the vendor Who is
selling the apurione lnedicines, and likewise the
name and address of the House in the United
States'or elsewhere, wlich may have supplied them,
so as to enable me, for the protection of the pub-
lic, to institute proceedings :against .such evil-
doers, and I engage to remunerate very handsome-
ly any person who may give nro such information,
the informant's name never being - divulged.
Should any person hae reason to believe that he
has been deceived by Laying epurions imitations
of these.rnedicines, he;will do well to send me, in
a letter, to the address at foot (which he can do at
a cost of six 'cents in p stage), one of the books of
• instruction which are ffixed to the same. I prom-
ise to examine a and s rid a reply, stating whether
the medicines are gen ins or not; so that, if spu-
rious, he may apply to the person from whom' he
purchased them to hay his money retnrned. -
Chemists and Drug sts who desire to obtain the
Medicines eau be Supp ied at the lowest wholesale
prices, in quantities of not leas than $20'worth-
viz„ 8s. 6d., 22s. and 8s, per. dozen boxes of Pill,'
'or pots of Ointment, net, without discount, for
which remittance must be sent in advance.
I have the honor to be,
With great respect, -
