al meeting 'of the Thames Road Cheese
Factory was held on Friday, 19th inst.
There was a good attendance of the peaf-
trolls, also Thomas. Ballantyne, Esq.,
Downie, George Hamilton, Esq., of Hib-
bert, Andrew Malcolm, Esq., of _Rocilbg:
erville, and John White, •Esci. of H
bert. The Meeting was called' to order
and James Haeleney elected chairmaline,
and George Hackney, secretary. T

read. There were 71,632 gallons of milk
delivered at the factory last season,
from which 68,248 pounds of cheese were
made. The quantity of milk required to
male a pound of cheese in the several
months was as followS : May, pounds,
11.19; Jilne 10.32 ; July, 10.63; Aug-
ust, 11.89 ; 'September. 9.14 • October,
8.70 ; Average price in each' month -
May, 9,65 cents per pound ; June.
9.01c. • July, 9 16c. • August, 9.12c.;
•-epteni'lier, 10 68c. ; 'October» 10.75c.
The report. was adopted. Mr.
Ballantyne addressed the meeting on
the advan Gages of daitying to the farmer •
Mr. Hamilton spoke on the best method”
of makine the soil profitable, Mr. White
on the conduct of patrons ; Mr. Malcolm
'en the microscope as a means of ascer-
taining the condition of the milk. The
follotving resolutions were then carried :
1st -That all milk for the use of the
factoryShall milked -in tin pails. 2nd --
AR Milk shall be delivered at the factory
either by the patrons themselves or by
cal riers paid by the patrons, in a clean,
sweet, untainted condition. 3rd -That
the manufacturer shatl manufacture the
ohtese cured and boxed for shipping, at
2cts per pound, giving the patrons a
the milk will make both in quantity and
price -the price to be derived from the
monthly averages to be kept in tbe Manu-
facturer's book. 4th -The patrons at tl-
anuteel meeting appoint a committee o
two,, along with the manufacturer, sai
COM mittee to have the power -4-o make a
sales of cheese and to -settle all disputes
that may arise 'with the milk haulers.
5th–The factory books to be audited a

found guilty of watering, adulterating
skimming or keeping thee strippings of
the milk shall be dealt whith aceording
to law.' 7th -When the cheese is cured
boxed, and ready for shipping, the pa-
trons shall haul tbe same to the railway
station as need requires. 8th -Any pa-
trons wanting cheese for their own use
