patched from, the Seaforth station. These

show a better record. for any week dur-

levying of a special rate for payment
of the debentures' and interest thereon.

Welt:1113es, By are act of the Fourth Session of
the Legislature of the Province of Ontario, paseed
in the 34th. year of the reign of Her Majesty,teneen
Victoria, entitled "Aii set to incorporate the Lon-
don, linron and Bruce Railway Company," it is,
among other things, provided anti enacted as fol-
hrws :
"And it shall further be lawful for any Munici-
pality or Muuicipalitiee, through any part of
• whieh, or near whieh, the i railway or works of the
eaid Companyethall pass or be sitaate.1 to aid and
assist the said Company by loaning or guarantee-
ing, or giving money by wt#y of bonus, or donations,
or other means to the Company, in the construction
or equipment of said Railway, or of any of the
works aathorized under this act, in such manner
and to such extent as such muniaipalitiee or any
of them shall _think expedient; Provided always,
that no such aid or assistance lev way of bonus,
• donation or otherwise, shall be given until after
the passing of a By-law for. the purpose, and the
adoption of such 13y-1aw by the ratepayers ; Pro-
vided. also, that any such By-law,: to be valid, sliall
be made in conformity with the laws of this Prov-
ince, respecting Municipal histitutione, and all
such 13y -laws HO passed shall be valid, notwith-
standing such rate may exceed the aggregate rate
• of two cents in the dollar'on the actual value ol
ouch rateable property, provided that the an-
nual rate of assessment shell not in any cal° ex.-

WHEREAS, The Municipality of = the Township of
Usbome has determined. to aid and assist the said
Company by giving thereto by wey of bonus the

cited act. And
WHEREAS, in order to carry into effect the said
recited object, it -will be neceseary for the said Mu-
nicipality to raise the said sum et 525,000, in the
manner hereinafter meutioned ano. set forth. And

be raised annually by special rate for pitying the
• said debt of $25,000 and interest. on the deben-
tures to be issued therefor, as hereinafter pro-
vided. And

nothing, interest nothing. And
WHEREAS, For. paying the inte st and creating
an equal yearly eniknig fund, for eying the prin-
cipal of the said debt of $25.000, ccenling to the
provisions of the act respecting M inicipal institu-
tiona of Upper Canada, it will rThequnire an annual
special rate in the dollar of four s and one-fifth
of a mill, (11-5 inills,) in addition to all other rates
to be levied each yens ;—
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED, y the Corpora-
tion of the Township of Usborn in Council as-
eenibled, as follows:
• lst—That it ehall and. may hal wful for the'said
Municipality to RSSifit the -said Co 'many by giving
thereto, byway of bonne, the sum of $25,000.
2d—That it shall be lawful for lie purpose afore-
said, for the Reeve of the said municipality to
cause anynumber of debentures to be made for
eneh stun of money as may be required for the said
purpose, not lees than $100 each, and not exceed-
ing in the whole the eaid sum f $25,000, which
said debentures shall be Bellied with the seal of the

8(1—That the said debenturee ehiill be made pay-
able in twenty pare at ' furtheet from the day
