W hereas the Council Of the Corporation of the
County of Huron, have resolved to purchase the

North1rn Gravel Road, and abolish the Collection
of TO11 on all the Gravel Roads in the County of -
Huron, from and after the .v irst1)ay of January
next.

And. whereas to carry into effect the .Said re-
-cited object, it will be necessary for the Council
of the said Corporation to raise the sum of •Fgrty
Thotnzand .41)ollar8 in the manner hereinafter men-

Andwhereaa it- will re ttire. the .suni of Four
thousand four hundred do Tars o be raised an-
nually, ,by speoial.rate for. ;i4 paytitentof the
said debt .and interest as al •-• hereinafter men-
tioned. , - .

And, whereas the amount • he whole rateable
property of the said Muni& ality of Einron, ir-
respective, of any future inc ase of the same, ancl.
irrespective of any income to be derived from the -
-temporary investment Of the Sinking Fend here-
inafter,mentioned.,or any part thereof, ,according'
to .the last revised and. i equalized Asseisinent '
Rals of the said Mitnicipility, being for the year
One thousand eight hundred _and sixty-nine was
Twelve millions nine hundred and sixty thousand
four bun' dred and sixty-thilee dollars.
And, yellereas the aniount of the existing debt
of the said' Munieipalityis as follows : Principal',
Twohundred and fif tyleinie thousand eight hundred
and thirtydollars,, for Gravel Road- Debentures,
bearing interest at the rate :of six per cent. per
: 0 - , ,
ammm. And Two hundred and filty-threetheou-
„Sand dollars to the Municipal Loan Fund, bear-
ing interest at the rate Of six per centper an-
num, upon whieh last mentioned :debt, -there has
been paid One hundred and ninety-one thousand
two hundred and nine dollars/making in the ag-
cregate as the actual indebtedness the sum of
*Three hundred and twenty-one thousand six
hunched . and twent3 -one dollars, upon which
there is no interest in arreair. The annual inter-
est to be paid cui the said debt is Thirty thousand
sev'en hundred and sixty.nine dellexs1 and eighty
:

And, whereas for paYMg the interest and
.creating an equal annual Sinking Fundfor pay-
ing toe said min of Forty Thousand Dollars, ,and
interest as hereinafter 'mentioned, it will require
an equal-) annual special . rate of seventeen -
fiftieths (1,7-50) of a mdloin the dollar in additibn
to all. other rates and taxes to be levied in each
year,. . -
Be it therefore -enaeted by the Council of the
Corporation of the Count of Huron :
ist Malt shall be lawful for the Warden for
the time being of the Said laet Mentioned Corpor-
ation -to raise by way of loan from any person or
persons'tIody or bodies corporate, who may be
wilting tai advance the same upon the credit of
-the Debuntures hereinafter mentioned, a sum not
'exceeding in the whore. the aunt of Forty Thou. -
sand Dollars and to cause the same tebe paid
into the hands of the Treasurer of the County
aforesaid for the partposee ahrl---vvith the object
above :recited
2nd. That it/ahali be lawful for the said War- ,
den to cause any number of Debentnies toi be
made for Such, sums of money, not less than One
hundred (foliate eauh, and that the said Deben-
tures shall be sealed with the Seal of the said
Cerporation, and be signed by the said Wardell.
3rd. That the said Debentures shall be made
payable in twenty- years at- furthest from the day
hereinafter mentioned for this,.13-y,lawte take ef-
fect either in London in'England, or some -place
in Canada to he designated in the Jaid Debentnres -
and shall have attaelied to them Coupons for the
payment of the interest -1-htlf yeatly. • ..
4th. That ' the Debentures and Coupons
shall be made out in either Sterling,Moneybr the
Currency of this !Dominion at the -option of the :
said Warden, so that the whole amount- of said
Debentures shall not e)ceed the before mentioned'
SAW of Forty Thousand Dollars, and they shall
laear interest at the rate of sit per Cent. per an;
num, which interest shall he payable on .the first
days of .inly and. January in each and every year
during the continuance (4 the said Debentures at
the place -wle,re. the Said ' Delwatures - are made

teenth Day of No-vember, A. D. 1870, to eom.

and that the Polis shall remain open until' nve
