(photos/ Pat Bolen) Knights of Columbus tournament a success By Carmel Sweeney ZURICH CORRESPONDENT ZURICH The staff and students at St. Boniface School said goodbye to their principal Mr. Rodney Marsh on Friday as he won t be returning after the Christmas break. He will be helping to support people with special needs in their communities, work places and learning environments in the Sarnia area. We will be welcoming Mr. Michael Bruneel as the new principal in January. Welcome home to Herb and Donna Klopp and Joe and Rose -Marie Regier who will be spending the Christmas holidays with their families. We offer our sympathy to the family and relatives of the late Jo Koloff who died sud- denly on Dec. 8 with a memorial service held on Dec. 17 at the Zurich Mennonite Church. The Lions club held their Christ- mas dinner / meeting on Dec. 10 at Smiley z Pizza and Pub with their spouses attending and all enjoyed a gift exchange game. Lion presi- dent is Sherman Roth. St. Peter s Lutheran Church will be having a family skating party at the Zurich Complex in the holi- days on Sun., Dec. 28 from noon to 1:20 p.m. and others from the com- munity are welcome to join them. Members from the Mennonite Church went Christmas Caroling around town on Dec. 22 followed by refreshments in their fellow- ship hall. The Zurich Mennonite Church is holding their Christmas Eve Ser- vice on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. All are welcome. Knights of Columbus tourna- ment St. Boniface Knights of Columbus would like to thank all the volunteers and par- ticipants that were involved in their 2008 Hockey and Volleyball Tournament. It was a great success again this year. The proceeds from the event will go towards a scholarship bursary fund at St. Anne s High School, the new rosary garden at St. Boniface School and support for the Rayjon Trip in 2009 to the Dominican Republic. On Dec. 13 the family of the late Bill and Blanche Ducharme held their annual Christmas get-together at the home of Don and Alice Masse in Zurich. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Gerard and his brothers. A good time was had by all.
