She walked to the Christ- mas tree. There were all presents under the tree. When she turned around, the tree started to giggle. She turned around again and the tree did not giggle. She looked behind the tree and there was an elf be- hind the tree. The elf said Where is Santa? . The girl said I do not know . But then the girl heard ho ho ho. Santa came down the chimney. Said the little girl did you see a elf? Yes said the girl behind the tree . Santa got the elf. Christmas By Kasie Dasilva Gr. 6 Exeter P.S. Lighting the Lights Raymond McKnight Grade 6/7 Usborne Central One of my most memo- rable Christmas moments happened when I was five. There were seven days until Christmas and Mom and I were decorating the tree. My job was to test the lights and hand the decorations to Mom. As I was testing the last set of lights, a bulb burst. Just as the wires touched the floor... KABOOM - it started up a fire. This is not good I thought to myself. I ran to the shoe closet and grabbed some boots. I started hitting the fire until it was out. Now every year before I start to test the lights, Mom looks at me and I look at her and we know what the other is thinking. Hopefully the only thing we light up this year is the tree. Season's Greetings From Gerry, June and Staff GLAVIN EAVESTROUGHING LTD. R.R. #1 CENTRALIA ONT.
