Exeter area shoppers to be surveyed
EXETER Local students rep-
resenting the Exeter Business As-
sociation (EBA) will conduct a
Customer Origin Survey in Exeter
over the next two months.
The students will be looking to
obtain responses from 400 local
shoppers.
The purpose of the survey is to
determine the place of residence of
shoppers so a trade area for Exeter
can be determined.
The EBA believes that by com-
bining this information with data
from Statistics Canada and stan-
dard consumer spending prac-
tices, much can be learned about
the profile of existing shoppers
and about those who reside in the
area but who may not now shop in
Exeter.
The information will be used to
help Exeter be more successful and
to improve the quality of retail ser-
vice opportunities available to area
residents, the EBA states.
To be successful, businesses need

Dec. 16, 2006
We remember him
with a smile today
For Jon was not one for tears
We'll reflect instead
on memories
Of all our happy years
We remember the way
he smiled and spoke
The hilarious things he said
His strength, his love,
his hearty laugh
We recall all this instead
We remember the joyful times
His eyes that shone with laughter
So much of him will never die
But live on (in Ty) for ever after

to supply the products and services
residents demand at the times and
in the manner they demand them,
according to an EBA press release.
To be satisfied, residents need
those successful businesses near-
by, the press release states.
The EBA believes the informa-
tion gathered by the survey will be
of benefit to retail and service busi-
ness operators in Exeter and to the
EBA as part of an all-encompass-
ing marketing strategy and brand
development.
Business operators will be able
to use the information to better de-
termine ideal product mix, goods
price categories, and promotions
for residents of the area.
The EBA will use the information
to help identify new opportunities
to serve existing and potential new
shoppers in Exeter.

BEVERLEY DIANE (ELLIOTT) OESCH
MAY 13, 1955 - DECEMBER 19, 2003
Five years since the shock and pain,
And each anniversary - it's back again.
Still when I think of it - denial comes anew;
Can memories really be all we have of you?
I watch Ryan et Kelly soldier on,
Remnants of grief - sure as the dawn.
Darren &Alicia with babes
not knowing your love;
Only their angel looking down from above.
Yourgrandkids will know - many will ensure;
The image we hold of you forever will endure.
Gracious and caring - no good deed undone;
Beauty inside and out
and the champion of fun.
Eyes closed, I see your smile and feel your hug;
At my heart you gently tug.
Memories and grief remind me of what's lost;
Images on my December window - beautiful
like the frost.

the project. They will be stopping
shoppers as they enter or exit
downtown stores to ask three or
four simple questions that will take
less than two minutes to answer.
"We hope shoppers will accept
this minor inconvenience to their
day to help the effort to revitalize
Exeter," said James Eddington,
president of the EBA.
