Confirmation classes in 2009

VARNA CORRESPONDENT
VARNA The Stanley Club held their
Christmas party on Tues., Dec. 9 with 45 in
attendance. The Varna UCW provided an
excellent Christmas dinner which everyone
enjoyed. Bill Dowson thanked them.
Entertainment was provided by Ken Boyce
and the Jammers. They sang many familiar
songs and a few Christmas songs. This all
made for a good evening. Bill Tay-
lor expressed their appreciation.
Door prizes were donated by
Mel and Betty Graham, Ralph
and Mona Stephenson, Bill Taylor,
Charles and Bernice Reid and the
Stanley Club. Thanks to them.
The winners were Betty Gra-
ham, Colin Snyder, Anna Keys,
Ron Henry, Alec Ostrom, Margaret
Hayter, Teresa Norman and Mil-
dred McAsh.
The next meeting will be on Jan. 7
at 2 p.m. Entertainment will be pro-
vided by sisters Grace Martin and
Pearl Arm Martin.
The Third Sunday of Advent as
well as White Gift was celebrated in
Varna Church on Sunday. Worship
Leader Colin Snyder welcomed
everyone and followed with the
life and work of the congregation.
Shirley Hill lit the candle of Peace
and Jim Kirton lit the candle of Joy.
Colin s message was on Voices
in the Wilderness . Thanks to all
whom donated so generously for
the White Gift.
Church service Sun., Dec. 21 will
be in Goshen Church with the Cel-
ebration of Christmas Sunday. The
Christmas Eve service will be held
Dec. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Varna

The Bluewater Recycling Association and all of its staff would
like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
During this holiday season, we postpone the regular collection
of waste and recyclables in order to allow our stag to savour
this joyous holiday season with their family
during this special extended long weekend as a result,
There will be no waste or recycling collection on
Christmas day, Boxing day, or New Years day and
our special collection day for Christmas and
New Years will occur on Saturday January 3rd.
