announce the safe arrival of Nolan Zachary,
weighing 7lbs. 8oz., on November 4, 2008 at
Stratford General Hospital. A baby brother
for Libby and Blake. Proud grandparents are
Mark and Ranah Harmon, Elkhart, Indiana
and John and Jane Gillespie, St. Joseph,

VANDERLAAN (BYLSMA) - Dan, Sheila
and children Noah and Jenelle thank God for
the quick but safe arrival of Samuel Albert.
Samuel was born at Stratford General
Hospital on October 23, 2008. He is
welcomed by Grandma (Jean Vanderlaan) and
Pake and Beppe (Auke and Chris Bylsma).

COLEMAN - Peacefully, at Queensway
Nursing Home, Hensall, on Friday, November
21, 2008, Norma Alice (Deitz) Coleman,
formerly of Kippen, passed away in her 81st
year. Loved wife of Bill Coleman of Kippen.
Dear mother and mother-in-law of Les and
Jane of RR#3 Kippen and John and Carol of
Kippen. Loving grandmother of Suzanne,
Elisha and Brandon, dear sister-in-law of
Edna Deitz. Sadly missed by her nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by her parents William
and Elizabeth (McGregor) Deitz, one brother
John Deitz and two sisters Dorothy Monroe
and Mildred Biggar. Visitation took place in
the HENSALL VISITATION CHAPEL, 79
King St., Hensall on Monday, November
24,2008. The funeral service was conducted
on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. in
St. Andrews United Church, Kippen, Ontario.
Rev. Marybeth Wilson officiated. Cremation.

automobile accident on Monday, November
17, 2008 Trevor William (Gregoire) English
of Exeter in his 33rd year. Beloved son of
Wendy (Smith) and Ron Gregoire of Exeter
and Guy and Cheryl English of Brampton.
Dear father of Austin, Sommer and Brodie.
Dear grandson of Ray English of Grand
Bend. Dear brother of Shelly Webster and
her companion Justin Johnston of Exeter,
Gillian Lavis and Jason Potter of Clinton,
Dana and Kory Parker and Derek English and
Tabitha Reis all of Brampton. Loving
companion of Rachelle Glenn of Lucan. Dear
uncle of Buddy, Mitchell, Ashley, Justice and
Kobi. Friends called at the Haskett Funeral
Home, Exeter on Wednesday, where the
funeral service was held Thursday, November
20, 2008. Bob Heywood officiated.
Interment Exeter Cemetery. Donations to a

WILSON - Suddenly, as the result of an
automobile accident on Monday, November
17, 2008 Cindy (Osterhout) Wilson of Lucan
in her 53rd year. Beloved wife of Norm
Wilson. Dear mother of Brad and Carrie
Wilson of London, Kara Wilson of Lucan,
Rachelle Glenn at home and her late
companion Trevor English (November 17,
2008) and Nick Wilson at home. Dear
grandmother of Destiny and Shyanna; Skye,
Hunter, Dominic, Logan, Austin, Sommer
and Brodie. Dear daughter of Dwayne and
Arlie Osterhout of London and the late
Patricia Osterhout (1985) and daughter-in-law
of Lois Wilson of Centralia and the late
Russell Wilson (1978). Dear sister and sister-
in-law of Alan and Theresa Osterhout of
Ottawa, Margaret Wilson and Jeff Procure of
London, Don and Patti Wilson of Lucan,
Donna and Dan Borm of Belmont, Linda and
Bill Armstrong of Exeter and Barb and Norm
Regier of Dashwood. Also missed by several
nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her
brothers Bobby and Billy. Friends called at
the Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan on
Thursday, where the funeral service was held
Friday, November 21, 2008. Rev. Kathy
Wreford officiated. Cremation with interment
St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye. Donations
to the Crest Centre or the Lucan United

Deaths
FREDRICK EDWIN - Former
Mayor, Town of Port Elgin, 1989-1991. At
the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton
on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the age of
77 years, Fred Wuerth of Port Elgin. Husband
of the former Helen Turnbull. Father of Amy
MacKinnon of Port Elgin, and Ross and his
wife Monique of Yellowknife. Grandpa of
Ian and Kerri MacKinnon, and Cassandra,
Jessica and Amanda Wuerth. Brother of
Doris Baxter and Wilson Forbes of Lefroy,
and Aldonna Blackwell of Caledonia. He is
survived by his sisters-in-law Betty Lou
Wuerth of London, Marion and her husband
Jack Otto of Southampton, and Audrey
Turnbull of Cambridge. Fred is predeceased
by his parents Sylvester and Elda Wuerth, his
brother Glen (Mickey), and by an infant sister
Florence. Born in the village of Crediton in
Huron County in 1930, Fred was the youngest
of five children. Fred s long career with
Ontario Hydro started in 1953 in Burlington,
followed by stints in Hamilton, Kakabecka
Falls, Terrace Bay, Ear Falls, and Galt. After
three years following his marriage to Helen in
1957, they together moved to Pembroke, and
then to Port Elgin in 1964. Fred enjoyed
curling and was involved with the Port Elgin
Curling Club, serving for a time as treasurer.
Fred s involvement in the town moved on to
his interest in local politics, serving for fifteen
years, first as Councillor, then as Reeve of the
Town, and followed by his term as Mayor of
Port Elgin. Along with Port Elgin CAO Doug
Court, Fred was responsible for the first
attempt at Pumpkinfest, a lasting legacy for
this town. This event has now grown to the
point where it now draws upwards of sixty
thousand people each year. In their leisure
time, Fred and Helen loved to travel, and had
seen both east and west coasts, spent time in
Florida, traveled to Europe, Scandinavia and
the Carribean. Fred especially enjoyed the
large cruise ships. Following his retirement,
Fred became a strong supporter of the Cancer
Society, daffodil sales chair for Port Elgin,
and served as a volunteer driver for patients.
Fred was also a member of Port Elgin Lodge
#429, and recently celebrated 50 years as a
member. Friends called at the W. Kent
Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port
Elgin (Town of Saugeen Shores) on
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008. Funeral
service was conducted at Port Elgin United
Church 840 Bruce St., Port Elgin on
Thursday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m. The
Rev. Gordon Williams and the Rev. Robert
Widdowson officiated. Interment Sanctuary
Park Cemetery, Port Elgin. Memorial
contributions to the Light the Way Campaign
of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation
would be appreciated as expressions of

GOWER - The family of the late Patricia
(Pat) Gower would like to give our special
thanks to Dr. Jadd for his care and
compassion. We would like to give

funeral service that will always stay with
